Data collection records the key parameters during each test. Results can be stored locally, to a USB device or to a Local Area Network (LAN).
Touchscreen Display. Test methods are programmed using an intuitive touchscreen display. Once approved and saved, each method can be recalled.
Automatic Weighing. An integrated 4 or 5-place Mettler Toledo analytical balance is used to collect shot weight data at any point of the method.
The device is securely clipped into a holder, which in turn is clipped onto the Vertus. This allows most styles of device to be supported without the need to remove the canister from the device.
Shaking is performed using closed loop control, which assures that the required motion is achieved. It is precisely controlled, completely configurable and repeatable.
Firing can be configured to apply up to three distinct forces per actuation. These are typically used to set forces that detect, insert and fire the canister.
Safety standards are complied with: moving parts are enclosed and an emergency stop is easily accessible.
Optional: Temperature and Humidity Sensor provides accurate environmental condition information within the test area.

Shot weight, the weight of the dose released during a single actuation, is routinely recorded as part of a DDU or APSD measurement. Useful for assessing the consistency of drug release from the inhaler, nasal drug product, routine measurement of shot weight is an efficient way to detect misfiring and more broadly, for analytical troubleshooting. Automation significantly streamlines the testing process when shot weight information is required.
Vertus® Plus is a fully automated benchtop shake and fire system, with integral shot weight measurement for MDI, nasal spray and nasal aerosol testing.
Offering all the functionality of Vertus® II, the Vertus Plus has an integrated weighing balance, which automatically records the mass of the inhaler at any point during a method. With Vertus Plus, even complete methods requiring shot weight collection can be fully automated, to the point of push button, walkaway operation, freeing analysts for more more productive tasks while at the same time improving data integrity.
